Since June’s presidential election, Iran has experienced a massive political upheaval, and just last
week the U.S. and Iran engaged in breakthrough discussions on Iran’s nuclear program. Are these two
developments related?

On Friday, October 16, at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, In These Times co-sponsored a
public exploration of this pivotal moment in Iran’s history and the critical issues involved in their peace
movement. The selected panel for Debating Engagement: A Critical Dialogue Among Progressives on
Iran & the Peace Movement featured the National Coordinator of Just Foreign Policy Robert Naiman
and DePaul University Professor of International Studies Kaveh Ehsani.
