TEXT ON SCREEN: A gunman opened fire in a library at one of Jerusalem’s largest religious colleges. Eight people were killed and several others injured. The gunman was shot dead by an off-duty soldier and two undercover policemen.

ZALMAY KHALILZAD, US AMBASSADOR TO THE UN: We are obviously shocked by the terrorist attack on the Jewish religious school in Jerusalem, the rabbinical school, and we condemn it in the strongest terms possible.
