PAUL JAY, SENIOR EDITOR, TRNN: Welcome to The Real News Network. I’m Paul Jay, coming to you today from Washington, night two of the Real News Webathon. I think we’re only–we’re over four or five minutes away from the 8:15 start of our panel, but let me tell you just a little bit of what the panel is. On our panel you will find Marc Rotenberg, who will be joining us. Marc is the executive director of Electronic Privacy Information Center in Washington, DC. Also joining us, from India, is Dr. Rebecca Parsons. She’s ThoughtWorks’ chief technology officer. ThoughtWorks is a major, a very innovative, large software company based in Chicago. And joining us also–I believe he’s in Vancouver today–is Tim Bray. He was the former director of Web technologies at Microsystems, and he’s also one of the more innovative technologists, I think they call themselves, one of the more innovative technologists in Internet history, quite well known. If you look him up in Wikipedia, you’ll find out the innovations he’s responsible for. And we’re going to be talking about the Amazon takedown of WikiLeaks, PayPal’s and Visa and MasterCard’s turning off of WikiLeaks access to the international banking system. And a lot of people think, even, of all the things that were done to WikiLeaks, perhaps cutting them off from their DNS supplier, a place that controls their domain name, may be the bigger threat to the issue of an open Internet.
